About Guingamp
Guingamp is situated in north-west France in the County of Côtes d'Armor and the Region of Brittany.
Guingamp would suit you if you want to live in a larger town in Brittany, but still enjoy being surrounded by history and heritage.

Guingamp, with a population of 10,000, may be one of the larger and more important towns in the area, but the pace of life here seems dictated by the meandering River Trieux, as it twists and turns gently through the town.
The 18th century central square is a delight for those who like to sit at a pavement café and watch the world go by, whilst admiring some really beautiful architecture. In the square is a lovely Renaissance style fountain, known as the 'Plomée' fountain, which adds a certain 'je ne sais quoi' to the general ambiance of the town.

France's Brittany Sees New Wave Of Brits Post-Brexit
September 10, 2017

"When we were driving north, south, east and west looking for properties for sale," she says, "it felt comfortably similar."

It's not only the landscape. The Bretons, the local people of Brittany, trace much of their heritage to ancient Britons who fled Cornwall after the collapse of the Roman Empire. In addition to French, some also speak Breton (Brezhoneg), a Celtic language that resembles Cornish.
